Pine Ridge, South Dakota

July 17, 2011 the Donna from the Feathered Nest is going quilting in South Dakota. Gunderson Clinic in Lacrosse partners with Global Partners in providing health care and is expanding its services into community education. You are invited to partner with us by donating working sewing machines, fabric 100% cotton, batting, sewing supplies such as thread, scissors, cutters, ribbons, embellishments. Donna and other quilters will be spending a week sharing patterns, skills, and ideas to get a cottage industry seeded. If you would like to give a donation of items or cash or time please email slatersewso@comcast.net. There are several pick up sights in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois, so if you have the items, we'll get it there. Become a partner in planting seeds for quilting and friendships.

AccuQuilt

My newest acquisition is an AccuQuilt cutter and I absolutely love it. You can order your own AccuQuilt through the Feathered Nest and any dies that you desire can be ordered. If you haven't tried one, make an appointment and try mine. It makes quilting more accurate and cuts the time it takes to cut in half, even more!

Place your order today.

Scrapples

Scrapples

This is my newest pattern that I am working on. I call is Scrapples as it is all from scraps of purple. Queen size, all strips, no matching--it is a wonderful way to create in one color family.

Pink color rendition of my purple scraps. I finished this quilt and gave to my good friend Dorothy. It is made from all scraps of pink!!!! Now I am working on a blue and yellow one. Merry Christmas!

Hatching new ideas

Need a program for your guild? Hatching new ideas and creating while having a hen party is what we do best. Donna Slater and Colleen Gift share, cluck and create so the whole group can learn while enjoying an eggciting time. Contact us at slatersewso@comcast.net to book your party. We also can do 3 or 6 hour workshops. We love to quilt and we love to explore new quilt stores and make new quilting friends. Go Chicken is a game with fabric strips , exercise to the Chicken Dance, and have a Hen Party.
